DS1 Camera: Troubleshooting Checklist

Confirm your camera was purchased from DocuSketch

• All DS1 cameras are sold and registered directly by DocuSketch. This ensures that the camera’s serial number is recognized in our system and can connect properly to the DocuSketch app. DS1 Cameras obtained elsewhere may not be supported.

Turn on the camera

• Make sure the battery is charged to at least 10%.
  

Check the camera’s WiFi State

• Make sure the camera’s WiFi State is switched on.
  

Check the camera’s light indicator

• Solid cyan → ready to connect.

• Blue or another color → power the camera off and back on, then wait for cyan.

Disable Bluetooth and VPNs

• Turn off mobile data, Bluetooth and any VPNs before connecting to the camera’s Wi-Fi. These can interfere with the connection.

Verify app settings

• In the DocuSketch app, tap on Camera and confirm that the correct camera (DS1) is selected.

Try capturing images

• You should hear a shutter sound with each 360° photo.

If the app still can’t detect the camera

• Reset your network settings.

• Upload all projects, then uninstall and reinstall the DocuSketch app.

• After reinstalling, check that all app permissions are enabled.

• Make sure your device is running the latest iOS or Android version

Test with another device

• If possible, try connecting with another camera or phone.

Using the Insta360 app (optional)

• Register the camera through the Insta360 app.

• The camera name will appear as “X3 **” (last six digits of the serial number).

• If prompted to update the firmware, please skip this step. DocuSketch uses a custom version provided by Insta360.

Re-check the DocuSketch app

• After registration, return to the DocuSketch app and test the connection again.
