My project is missing. What can I do?

Article summary

There could be multiple reasons why a project becomes unsearchable. In this article, we list down these reasons, the causing factors and how to go about dealing with them when it happens.

Please note that this article are for projects created under the same account only. This means that once you've created a project and found it missing for whatever reason, this article is for you.

1. Project goes missing after logging out or reinstalling the DocuSketch app.
This is the most common reason why a project may go missing. This is one reason why it would be best to consider uploading any pending projects first before updating the login credentials of an account, logging out of the DocuSketch app or reinstalling the DocuSketch App.

Path Forward: For cases like these, you may do the following:
a. Plug the camera into your computer.
b. Find the 360 images inside the camera.
c. Login to the
DocuSketch Web Portal.
d. Create the project there. Fill out the necessary details.
e. Drag and drop the images from the camera into the drop boxes.
f. Label the rooms accordingly.

2. Project goes missing after uploading the Project.
This is a rare case. It typically happens during the upload process where the images are being uploaded between the device onto the cloud.

Path Forward: For cases like these, please reach out to help@docusketch.com, call us at 888-400-8858 extension 2 or chat with us through the DocuSketch app to notify us of the issue.

For an immediate remedy, you may do the following:

3. Project was created under a different account.
This case tends to happen if the user uses multiple DocuSketch accounts. Ideally logging into one account should suffice. However, should there be a reason to login to multiple accounts, this may be a factor to consider.

For this scenario, the best fix is to remember which account the project was created under or alternatively, logging in as the main admin account to view all Projects created. Remembering the Project name also helps when using the search option.

Here are options you can try to find the project:
a. Login to your account (or an admin account) and search for the project.
b. Search for the Project through the search bar using the Project ID, Name or Address.

Note: Deactivated Accounts may also render the Project inaccessible.

4. Project was archived or deleted.
A project can be deleted through the DocuSketch App before it is uploaded. Once the project is uploaded, the only way a project can be deleted is by archiving the Project first, then deleting the Project permanently. Archiving a Project acts like a recycle bin where you can still access these Projects in case you change your mind about deleting them. However, once a Project is deleted permanently, there is no way of retrieving the old data without recreating the Project again.

If the Project is archived, you can simply go into your main account's "Archived Projects" list and reinstate the account.

5. Project is not stored locally into the mobile device.
This happens mainly on iOS devices. The iOS device stores the last recently edited 1000 projects on the mobile device immediately available for search.
This is done because anything more than that would fill your mobile device's storage space.

For cases like these, all you'll have to do is the following:
a. Open the
DocuSketch Web Portal on your mobile browser.
b. Search for the project you are looking for.
c. If it is available under your account, click on the cog icon beside the project name to modify the project name.

Update your DocuSketch App's project list. This should pop the project on top of the searchable list on your mobile device.
