Estimating service overview

DocuSketch offers Full Service Estimating all within a DocuSketch subscription. With the ability to write both Xactimate and Symbility (ClaimsConnect) estimates, DocuSketch is a one-stop shop for all Documentation, Scoping, and Estimating needs!

What types of estimates do we write?

We are able to write all types of restoration estimates: Water, Fire, Mold, Contents, Reconstruction (Interior & Exterior), Biohazard, Board Up, Vehicle Impact, Asbestos, etc. If you need an estimate, DocuSketch can write it.

What information do you need to write an estimate?

It is required that a virtual tour is uploaded and a sketch created by DocuSketch prior to ordering an estimate. DocuSketch also requires a scope of work for the estimate type requested.

DocuSketch recommends that the subscriber completes a Pre-Mitigaton Tour and a Post-Demolition Timeline within the same virtual tour at a minimum. This level of documentation will allow our estimators to see a majority of the scope within the tour.

DocuSketch also offers an In-App Scoping Tool which can be utilized per room to provide a detailed scope of work. Once a scope is uploaded using the In-App Scoping Tool, an email that includes the scope document will immediately be emailed to the user who created the tour. See our Scoping Tool for more details. The utilization of Point Of Interest Comments is also strongly suggested.

Do I need to document the Cause of Loss? 

DocuSketch includes a comment type titled “Cause of Loss.” We strongly recommend that the Cause of Loss is documented on each project for consistency and completion of your documentation. Note that this comment is not REQUIRED for estimating. Check our article about Adding Comments to learn more about them.

How do we get the estimate? 

Xactimate

DocuSketch will complete the estimate within the carrier profile you have selected and provide you with the ESX and rough draft PDF upon completion. Subscribers receive an automatic email notification once the estimate is completed with both files included, but all files are also accessible on docusketch.com.

Symbility (ClaimsConnect)

• Symbility (ClaimsConnect) estimates are not stored within DocuSketch as the .fml file type Symbility creates does not support line items at this time.
• All Symbility (ClaimsConnect) estimates are required to be written within your Symbility login. You will still receive an email notification once the estimate is completed.
